MAYOR ENRICO "RECOM" ECHIVERRI CUP NATIONAL RAPID CHESS TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Its all systems go for the 2nd MAYOR ENRICO “RECOM” ECHIVERRI CUP NATIONAL RAPID CHESS TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP to be held on September 5 - 6, 2009 at the 3rd floor, Bulwagan, Caloocan City Hall, Caloocan City.

This event, organized by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) and hosted by the City of Caloocan headed by Mayor Enrico Echiverri, offers a total cash prize of P200,000.00 with the winning team earning 60,000.00 while the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th placers receive P 40000, P20000, P10000, and P8000 respectively. Individual Board 1 to 5 topnotchers each receive P2,000 and gold medals.

Each team may field a maximum of five (5) players including one titled player (grandmaster, International master, FIDE master or national master) to play on the top board and must have an average rating of 2050 OR BELOW based on the NCFP July 2009 Standard Rating List.

Registration fee is Four Thousand Pesos (P 4,000) per team.

Leading the luminaries expected to grace the Opening Ceremonies to be held on September 5 are Caloocan Mayor Enrico Echiverri, NCFP Chairman / President Prospero “Butch” Pichay, Jr., NCFP Secretary General & Tagaytay City Mayor Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino and other Caloocan City Officials.
